Self tapping locking screw refers to a self tapping screw with a triangular tooth at the tail and a triangular thread shape. It belongs to a special type of self tapping screw. We can first introduce the basic knowledge of self tapping screws.

What is a self tapping locking screw? It is a type of self tapping screw, with a regular thread with an arc-shaped triangular cross-section and a high hardness on the surface of the thread. Therefore, when connecting, the screw can tap an internal thread in the bottom hole of the connected part, forming a connection. The characteristics of this type of screw are low tightening torque and high locking performance.

There are many types of screws, which are classified according to different head types and thread types. We commonly have mechanical screws and triangular screws.

The first advantage of triangular screws is that they can self tap. Facing some customers, the hardness of products is relatively hard, such as iron plates. Self tapping locking screws precisely utilize their self tapping properties. Better penetrate into the product.

The second benefit is saving nuts. It doesn't need to be like a mechanical screw, it needs to be equipped with a nut. This is good for customers in terms of cost

Compared to ordinary screws, triangular screws can reduce resistance during the locking process. It relies on three points to tap the machined part, and there is a thermal effect during the locking process. After cooling, it will prevent the screw from moving. Triangles are generally 60 degrees, with high thread strength and low locking force, making production relatively easy. There are also 55 degrees, Vickers. Threads are divided into locking, transmission, and sealing functions, such as square threads and ladder threads, which generally have transmission functions. The difference between triangles and squares is the difference between triangular teeth, as explained in mechanics and geometry. Triangles are more stable than quadrilaterals.
